Very finely woven rug but with holes, splits and damage to centre; hole to lower right border and outer guards missing all the way round. Together with a small Kayserie ‘art silk’ mat, north central Anatolia, modern. (2) £100-150

1896. Impressive Aydin kelim, west central Anatolia, mid-19th century, 11ft. 1in. x 6ft. 2in. 3.38m. x 1.88m. Note the extra brocaded small details throughout. Woven in two widths, joined down the centre. Small holes and damage to both ends; corrosion to browns; old repairs. £800-1,000
1898. Rare Transylvanian fragment, Ushak- Ghiordes-Bergama area, west Anatolia, probably about 1700, the fragment 2ft. x 1ft. 11in. 0.61m. x 0.58m. Now laid down on linen. Holes and wear as one would expect from a fragment of this age. Note the attractive buff field and the pale gold main border with archaic interlinked hooked motifs. £300-400
