European Awards Celebrate Industry Excellence


WE REPORT ON THE INAUGURAL EUROPEAN UNION OF SWIMMING POOL AND SPA ASSOCIATION WHICH TOOK PLACE AT THE RECENT AQUANALE IN GERMANY AND SHOWCASE THE WINNERS IN EACH CATEGORY

he first ever European Union of Swimming Pool and Spa Association (EUSA) awards took place at the aquanale exhibition held in Cologne, Germany on Thursday 24 October. Hailed as a resounding success, the awards focused on just three categories and nine winners were announced from entries covering 12 countries.


Competition was tough with EUSA representing over 2,000 swimming pool and spa companies across Europe. The awards were judged by top industry professionals representing the 12 countries of EUSA. With


such superior standards, understandably tensions were high in anticipation of the results with the event erupting as each of the winners were announced, securing their places as the 2013 industry leaders. With their entry quite rightly impressing EUSA judges, Devon based company Harris Pools & Leisure Ltd magnificently took the silver award in the Domestic Spas and Hot Tubs category.


Directors of Harris Pools and Hot Tubs, Kris German and Glen Gardiner visited the aquanale show to collect their award supported by BSPF Managing Director Chris Hayes who commented: “We were thrilled by this year’s results proving incredibly popular and creating tough decisions for the judges, with a shortlist of 71 entries across three categories.” Chris continued: “The excellent work displayed by our members defines the industry and celebrates the exceptional standards of our members and their professionalisms, I

With an objective of, strengthening and coordinating the spirit of European unity between all its members and the voice of craftsmen, the trade, wholesalers and the wet leisure industry across Europe. John Scott commented: “I am extremely proud to be at the helm through these exciting times for EUSA, as we celebrate the first ever European swimming pool and spa awards. The calibre of competition entries was outstanding, providing an exceptional opportunity to celebrate our industry and share best practice like never before.”
