the larger companies having representation, including Certikin International, Pentair, Pollet Pool Group, SCP Europe and AstralPool who used the show to present its new brand positioning of being ‘The Pool Brand’. Another company displaying a new corporate makeover was Bosta Bevo, who also showcased new filters, including the new Mega SMG and Hydro-S Ultra filter series. A new innovative product also being introduced was the Hydro-Pro Remote App. The app enables Hydro-Pro heat pumps to be monitored and managed from a smartphone or tablet, and can even record video of a pool! In addition to the bigger names which were located around the show, the UK Pavilion flew the flag too with a number of companies taking booths under its banner. Elecro Engineering and Artesian both occupied larger sized stands, the former showcasing a number of products including a new solar pool and spa heater. UV companies were represented thanks to both atg UV and Triogen both exhibiting their high end solutions and water testing companies also had a strong presence with ITS Europe and LaMotte Europe in the pavilion and both presenting new products. ITS revealed a new entry level consumer targeted pool/ spa water tester and LaMotte a new, mobile Waterlink Spin precision water testing kit. Hach Company (Aquachek), Lovibond Tintometer and Pool-i.d. were also at the event with their water testing solutions.


Passion Spas and sister company Fonteyn Spas between them occupied an enormous area with an impressive and varied number of hot tubs, swim spas and accessories. Other hot tub brands that had some great models on display included Coast Spas, Jacuzzi and MAAX Spas to name just a few. In total, the event brought together exhibitors from 26 countries, 62% of which were international and welcomed just over 17,000 visitors. The show cemented its international importance with 45% of those visitors to Barcelona being from overseas. Those that made the trip came from around a hundred countries, such as France, Italy, UK, Sweden, Israel, Turkey, Germany, Argentina, USA and Brazil, Russia, Ukraine, Morocco and United Arab Emirates, among others. Speaking about the success of this year’s event, the President of Piscina Barcelona, Eloi Planes, commented: “The swimming pool and wellness industry remains solid and dynamic despite the crisis, by focusing above all on renovation and maintenance in mature markets like ours and on the construction and equipping of new facilities in regions with emerging economies.
