OFFERING A FRESH TAKE ON WELLNESS IN WATER, SPATA MEMBERS CHESHIRE WELLNESS AREN’T AFRAID TO OFFER COMMERCIAL AND PRIVATE CLIENTS THROUGHOUT EUROPE AND BEYOND UNIQUE SOLUTIONS – AND IT’S A PHILOSOPHY WHICH HAS REWARDED THEM WITH SUCCESS AFTER SUCCESS

swimspas, spas and thermal suites – from the traditional sauna and steam room, to cultural delights such as the Turkish hammam or even the health infused oasis of a salt room. Originally founded in 1965 by the father of current Managing Director, Paul Hilton, the company has expanded and grown over the years, becoming one of the largest pool and spa manufacturers in Europe and gaining wide respect from clients and traders alike as a staple within the industry.

A

Paul, who took the reins from his father, says: “We started off doing maintenance on swimming pools, and then we got a break of a few pools to build.

“About 18 years ago, we did four pools for a fitness group in one year – that kick-started us in commercial pools.

“And then the spas came about when I saw fish ponds in a garden centre that were perfectly round. We started tiling them, then

ward-winning Cheshire Wellness specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke swimming pools,

we made our own purpose-built moulds. “About eight years ago, we began using the name Cheshire Wellness in association with the wellness division of Cheshire Spas and Pools. We were amongst the first to use the European term of wellness as it encompasses the whole package we offer.” Cheshire Wellness’ diverse worldwide portfolio is testimony to their success; as is the number of awards they have under their belt. They have received high praise for numerous projects, including winning ‘Commercial Pool of the Year’ for five consecutive years at the established SPATA Awards, and Gold Awards for ‘Residential Pool of the Year’ and ‘Health Pool of the Year’ at the 2013 UK Pool and Spa Awards. Paul’s own career started from humble hands-on beginnings with a City and Guilds qualification in heating and air conditioning, whilst being employed as a draughtsman. “I served my time in the drawing office,” he said. “What I like is being inspired by things, such as pieces of sculpture and technology from other industries, and trying

to introduce them into what we are doing. It makes for an exciting client experience.” It is precisely this vision which allows Cheshire Wellness to push the boundaries consistently in aqua-leisure design; by taking inspiration from the natural world, modern art and architecture and offering a fresh take on wellness in water.

The company now employs around 50 people and offer a complete in-house service with help from a talented team of individuals; from initial design in their CAD studio with 3D capabilities, to mould making and shell manufacturing in their 30,000sq ft on site factory – which has recently been ISO 9001 accredited.

Three years ago, Cheshire Wellness joined Liverpool University in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme, the aim was to review and implement new innovative procedures and stream line the factory. This scheme resulted in an ISO 9001: 2008 certification; which is the internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses. This ensures the quality of products is paramount, customer satisfaction is both met and exceeded and that a readiness fo r continuous improvement is upheld.

It is this commitment to quality of service and client focus that sets Cheshire Wellness apart from the rest. SPN
