WE REVIEW AQUANALE – THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR FOR SAUNA, POOL AND AMBIENCE - THE BIENNIAL SHOW THAT TAKES PLACE IN COLOGNE. TRADITIONAL KNOWN FOR SERVING THE GERMAN SPEAKING AND NORTHERN EUROPEAN MARKETS, THIS YEAR’S EVENT HAD A MUCH MORE INTERNATIONAL LOOK AND FEEL TO IT
aquanale concluded in Cologne on 25 October with the organisers reporting very good results. This year, for the first time, the event took place on the same days as FSB (International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities) so as to maximise on the potential of each show. Across four days, the trade fair duo attracted an impressive 25,000 visitors from 115 countries, with aquanale making significant gains in terms of its international feel and recording particularly noticeable increases in visitors from the UK, Russia, France, the Netherlands, Turkey and Israel, as well from Asia, and especially India. On the exhibitor side, 256 companies from 26 nations were on hand to present the latest trends for the coming year.
Waterco chose aquanale to introduce their new chlorine free Hydroxypure water treatment system into the market ahead of its UK launch in early 2014
Nearly all the leading companies from the swimming pool, sauna and wellness sectors were represented in Cologne. They demonstrated their innovative strength with numerous new products and services, all of which attracted great interest from the visitors. “All four trade fair days were characterised by a highly international atmosphere and a high level of visitor quality,” said Dietmar Rogg, President of the Federal Association for Swimming Pools & Wellness (bsw). “This makes aquanale the trend-setting fair for the swimming pool and wellness sector. The new fair concept was a huge success.”
The consolidation of the wet leisure sectors covered by aquanale and FSB ensured that all private and public pool sectors were on display at one platform in Cologne.
EXHIBITORS PRAISE QUALITY OF VISITORS AND AQUANALE’S INTERNATIONAL REACH The exhibitors were extremely satisfied with the large number of visitors to the fair and were pleased to report an impressive number of visitors from outside Germany. The exhibitors also praised the visitors’ generally high level of decision-making authority. This is also confirmed by the initial results of the visitor survey, which found that 89% of the visitors were involved in purchasing decisions. “Not just the quantity but also the quality of the visitors was very high this year,” said Bert Granderath, Vice President of the European Union of Swimming Pool and Spa Associations

(EUSA) and Managing Director of grando GmbH. “We were extremely pleased that we had exhibited at this aquanale, which was the best and most international one ever.” Waterco has been building its presence in both Germany and at this show for some years now. In addition to exhibiting their more familiar range of high quality and energy efficient products, the company chose aquanale to introduce their new chlorine free Hydroxypure water treatment system into the market ahead of its UK launch in early 2014. Tony Fisher, Managing Director of Waterco Europe said: “This is the best place to launch a high quality product. The audience is demanding in what they expect from a product in terms of quality, longevity, service and innovation so it was the ideal platform to show our new system which meets and exceeds all these expectations.
“The interest and the follow ups from the show already confirm what we knew which is that aquanale is a key event for us and cements the existing relationships we have with our clients and distributors.” With it already receiving high praise from many, we’ll be taking a closer look at the innovative Hydroxypure system in the February issue of SPN. Tibor Meszaros, Managing Director of Compass Pools said: “aquanale was an excellent event for us, and of course this had a lot to do with the high quality of the visitors. We established more contacts on the second day of the trade fair alone than we recently did during the entire fair in
