Chris Helsen of Modular Ceilings Limited advises: “Without doubt, stretch ceilings are an excellent product, especially when used in a swimming pool environment, but customers should be aware that recent years have seen a number of companies, both large and small enter the market, only to disappear soon afterwards.”

He goes on to say: “Despite the economic downturn, we have remained busy and have enjoyed record sales in the last two years along with an excellent company credit rating. When choosing a stretch ceiling supplier, the quality of the product itself will obviously be the main focus of attention along with the cost but as with anything else, the prudent client may wish to take a careful look at the supplying company and take account of other factors such as of stability (as stated above), experience, attitude and capability as well as after sales service and logistics.”

TOTAL INDEPENDENCE Established in 2003, Modular Ceilings Limited is one of only two companies manufacturing stretch ceilings in the UK. As the original British manufacturer, they have considerable experience and remain unique in that they are totally independent of any foreign companies.

Their independence and position as both manufacturer and installer allows them to innovate freely and this has been essential to enable them to develop their stretch ceilings

and offer features unavailable elsewhere. In contrast to the wild claims made by others, their capabilities really do manifest themselves in a number of ways that are beneficial to their clients. However, they would not claim to ‘lead the way’, as that is certainly not their intention and to date their competitors have been either unwilling or unable to follow.

Their stretch ceilings are manufactured by their own highly experienced staff at their factory in North Wales and are then fitted by them throughout Britain. Available in an almost unlimited combination of colours, finishes and contours this provides a solution for almost

every requirement the customer may have. There have always been hundreds of wall and floor coverings available. As far as ceilings are concerned, there has been very little choice. With the advent of their designer stretch ceilings, that situation has changed with stunning effect!

Used in both corporate and domestic situations, these superb stretch ceilings have extremely valuable and practical applications in all sorts of environments for a number of different reasons. This is particularly so in swimming pools, where they tick more boxes than any other type of surface. Aesthetically, the schemes and designs from Modular

CASE STUDY Inscape Provide Single Point Of Contact For Stunning Jersey Project

Inscape Limited was established in 1994 and prides itself on giving a professional service both in the UK and abroad. Over the years Inscape has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge using the stretch ceiling systems and has developed the business to carry out all of the associated works needed to complete each project. Inscape believe that it is more beneficial for the client to have one point of contact for the complete project, be it structure,

electrical installations of lighting systems, decoration and of course the ceiling itself. After a recommendation, Inscape recently completed a pool room refurbishment for a client in Jersey. Inscape was entrusted by the client to come up with a design and carry out all the works associated to complete the project. Within this project they were able to use a two tier ceiling system which uses DMX controlled lighting incorporating LED colour changing lighting that lit the perimeter of the

room and the perimeter of the second tier to create a shadow light. A thousand colour changing fibre optic stars were also installed into the ceiling and in the centre a printed translucent ceiling was used to create the illusion of a skylight. The DMX controlled lighting system allowed the ambience of the room to be transformed into an array of varying mood settings. When the client saw the room finished his reaction was: “Wow, it’s better than I could ever have imagined.”
