SAFE, CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER For domestic pools and spas the drive towards salt chlorination is growing

growing slowly and surely which provides a strong base for sales and after care. A slow and steady growth has meant that we are better placed to provide better priced products.”

DITCH THE CHEMICALS… AND THAT CHLORINE SMELL

Faced with dangerous chemicals and lingering smells, it’s no wonder why many pool owners are choosing saltwater pools and their soft, soapy / silky feel. The Zodiac Ei Saltwater Chlorinator, which is available through Golden Coast, has been designed with installers in mind. Managing Director Jamie Adams explains: “It is, without a doubt, the fastest saltwater chlorinator to install! It’s simple, easy and requires no plumbing, thanks to its Quick Fix cell.” Installed on the pool’s filtration system, the Ei cell directly produces disinfectant at a rate of between 10g to 25g per hour (depending on your model). Upon entering the water, this dissolves and fights against bacteria, algae and microorganisms. The Zodiac Ei’s user friendly control panel includes a programmable clock which allows filtration times and chlorine production to be independently controlled – ensuring optimal disinfection – even when the owners are away. For safety, the module features a flow detector.

There are three module sizes available thus meeting the needs of new and existing pools up to 100m². Cells can be mounted horizontally or vertically to meet your customer’s needs.

worldwide. The Bright Blue salt chlorinator from Thermalec allows the enjoyment of a softer and silkier feel to the pool whilst knowing that it is safe and saving your customer money. The Bright Blue is a modular design, compact enough to fit into a circulating water treatment system in a domestic swimming pool or spa. It generates chlorine from within its own electrolysis cell. The salt is added to the pool or spa water where it dissolves. It passes though the filtering circuit and the electrolysis cell where a process of ion separation takes place, breaking the salt into a hypochlorous acid (chlorine). The chlorine is released electrochemically, under control. Afterwards the ions recombine, recomposing the salt. The process repeats itself continuously or whenever necessary.

SEAL – AT THE CUTTING EDGE SEAL Pool Equipment is a family owned company, founded in Brisbane, Australia, with a European office for the distribution in Europe and the Middle East. With over 25 years’ experience in the pool industry, their joint owner and engineering director specialises in the design and manufacturing of top of the range chlorinators and other swimming pool equipment.

The company first launched its popular range of saltwater chlorinators, the CL series for residential facilities. They have also recently developed the SEAL Pup, a chlorinator for small pools and spas. Reverse polarity, low salt and water flow alarms, manual and automatic settings and electrode monitoring are some of the common features to all their chlorinators.

The process requires the pool or spa to have a salt concentration of between 3 and 6 g/l. This is still classified as fresh water (by comparison, sea water contains 20 g/l of salt on average).

As the pool water passes between the chlorinator’s plates, the electrolysis takes place; The SEAL chlorinator converts the chlorine in the salt (sodium chloride) into ‘chlorine’. This production of chlorine is released in a safe and controlled way. The chlorine is used to sterilise the pool and, in doing so, returns to salt in the process. This process is continually repeated therefore recycling the salt. The benefits include:

• No more expensive packaged chlorine, shock treatments or algaecides

• No more exposure to chlorine powders, dangerous storage, etc.
