points in the city – including at the Information Station in the city centre, Bettws, Malpas, Pill, Duffryn, Ringland, Gaer, Maesglas, St Julians and Maindee – and it works with other community organisations in order to best serve residents. It costs £1 to join Newport Credit

Union (free for juniors) and you can save as little or as much as you like. Loans are available to regular

savers and cost very little. £500 paid back over a year costs £11 per week with interest totalling less than £60 (the same loan from a doorstep lender would cost you £410) The credit union can also open a

pre-paid card (credEcard) account for you – it gives you the ability to shop online, create standing orders and direct debits etc. It also gives you £4 cash-back for every £100 you spend in Asda. Why not become a member?

The staff are friendly and helpful and are understanding. Visit www. newportcreditunion.co.uk for more information or call 01633 214913. The Credit Union is located in Market Arcade, Newport city centre.
