Discover your inner cowboy at Reesor Ranch

Historic Reesor Ranch – cowboy comfort with atmo- sphere and western hospitality! Located halfway between Fort Walsh and Elkwater Lake, on the north slope of the West Block of Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Historic Reesor Ranch offers an authentic ranch experience and getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Owned by Scott and Theresa Reesor, the ranch has been continuously operated by the Reesor family for more than 100 years and earned the Century Family Farm award in 2004. They were recipients of Tourism Saskatchewan's “Spirit of Saskatchewan” Award of Excellence in 2007. In 2011, they won the Saskatchewan French Tourism Bravo Award, offering bilingual services to visitors.

Historic Reesor Ranch offers visitors a cowboy experi- ence with their Cypress Hills Cowboy Adventure packag- es. Chosen as one of Canada's first 48 “Signature Experiences” by the Canadian Tourism Commission, this experience helps show the world what Canada's tourism brand is all about. Besides adventure packages, the ranch offers bed and breakfast in the ranchhouse, two cabin rentals, and the Old Log Barn facility with 15 bedrooms and camping-RV sites. These four types of lodging on the ranch allow guests to stay in comfort while still maintaining a budget. The newly-restored Ranch Hall holds up to 100 guests for weddings and family or group reunions. Catered meals are available or prepare your own. Two new bath- rooms with wheelchair accessibility were added in 2012. Romance packages in the Cowboy's Cabin draw hon- eymooners and anniversary couples. This cabin's two-person jacuzzi jet air tub is especially popular. The ranch offers daily horseback activities as well. “It's not just for the guests that stay here. We welcome visitors to join us who are in the Cypress Hills Destination Area,” says Theresa. “Just call ahead to make your book- ing.” In addition to two-hour horseback riding excursions is the four-hour horseback riding experience called “Cattle Drive 101.” It is proving to be popular for those wanting to learn the age-old tradition of herding cattle on horseback. Horse-drawn wagon rides for groups are also offered with the trusty Belgian horse team of Bob

and Jack.

Hiking and mountain biking on the ranch and beyond via the Trans-Canada Trail into the wilderness area of Cypress Park are all part of the adventure that can be experienced. Winter activities and winterized accommo- dations attract guests for snowmobiling, tobogganing, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
