The city is home to a number of sightseeing landmarks, including the most notable Saamis Tepee – the tallest tepee in the world – overlooking Seven Persons Creek. Medicine Hat is known as Canada’s sunniest city with nearly 15 weeks of sunshine per year. Visitors can enjoy the sun strolling down the city’s 100 kilometres of meandering walking trails, picnicking at one of its eight public parks or choosing between its six golf courses to break a sweat. Kin Coulee Park, located along the banks of Seven Persons Creek, features a skateboard park, duo ball diamonds, beach volleyball courts, playgrounds, an off-leash dog park and a band shell. The park plays host to a number of summer events such as outdoor movies and Canada Day festivities. The expansive 300-acre Police Point Park is any bird-lov-
er’s paradise. The eight kilometres of walking and cycling trails are ideal for spotting various species of birds and other wildlife.
As for indoor entertainment, the Medicine Hat Leisure
Centre has something for the whole family. Have a skate on the Olympic-size ice rink or take a dip in the 50-metre pool equipped with a waterslide, diving platforms, kiddies’ pool and wave pool.
