Current Museum, located across from the Wheatland Mall. It not only offers a chance to view a permanent exhibit of the history of the Southwest, it also has a host of revolving exhibits that reflect the values and interests of its people today.
Mennonite Heritage Village and
Doc’s Town are located next to one another
at the city’s exhibition grounds. Two villages that act as liv- ing museums, their exhibits feature collected artifacts and buildings from Swift Current’s past which help visi- tors better understand the life and times of early settlers, with numer- ous hands-on demonstrations and activities.
Once you’ve experienced the past,
it’s time to move forward to Swift Current’s fun-loving present. Enjoy outdoor swimming at Fairview Pool, play a round at one of the two golf courses open to the public, or enjoy a game of mini golf.
Sports enthusiasts will also take
great pleasure in the offerings of the Speedy Creek Raceway and the ever-popular Swift Current Indians who take to the field competing in the Western Major Baseball League each June. For those looking for a little
Vegas-style action there is the Living Sky Casino and its adjoining Sky Centre. Here performances from acts such as the Cirque le Masque, southwest Saskatchewan’s Hunter Brothers and many others delight audiences in true big-city style. Swift Current has a proud past and an exciting future.
