Shaunavon is a bustling town with residents who have a strong community spirit.
The community of approximately 2,500 people is locat- ed 52 kilometers south of Gull Lake on Highway 37. With a vision for the future and working together the community built a new recreation complex – the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre. This facility includes an NHL- size ice surface, four-sheet curling rink, concession booth, upstairs lounge, lobby, viewing areas upstairs and on main level, and two conference rooms. The energy sector is a major economic driver in
Shaunavon, and many people are employed in the oil industry which has contribut- ed to the community's growth in recent years.
History is important to the
people of Shaunavon. A self-guided heritage walking tour takes visitors to 20 histor- ic buildings and helps foster appreciation for the town’s rich history.

Shaunavon as this town boasts a new skatepark, an out- door swimming pool, ball diamonds, several parks, a nine- hole golf course, tennis courts and Trans-Canada Trail. several hotels and motels. Shawnee Campground is situat- ed in town close to the retail sector and offers showers and a dumping station. More rustic camping is available at Pine Cree Regional Park
located about 30 km west of Shaunavon.
