Page 42 Secrets of the Southwest 2012 Richmound is a community in bloom!
This mural on Bob's Garage depicts a bygone era. Be on the lookout for deer and antelope as you drive
the 21 km of Highway 371 from Fox Valley to Richmound. Though small, Richmound has much to offer. Throughout the summer the gardens are beautiful as
the residents take part in Communities in Bloom. You will find unique wall murals downtown on “Bob’s Garage,” and on the front of the school. There is a museum and archives room located in the RM office. This museum has been lovingly put together by a number of Richmound residents and is available by appointment and on special occasions. The library is also located in this building.
The senior men play baseball weekly from May to
July. May long weekend is when people gather from many communities to play slo-pitch. There is a modern playground located at the school. Richmound has a very active Lions Club which meets
on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month except in July and August. St. Mary’s Church holds services on the weekends. In the centre of town you will find the hotel which has
a restaurant and bar. Across the street is a confectionary attached to the post office. Next to that you will find the notice board which lists the local activities. There is fuel available on the east side of town Camping and boating enthusiasts will enjoy McLaren
Lake Regional Park which is located less than a half hour southwest of Richmound.
Fox Valley welcomes you!
Located on Highway 21, the village of Fox Valley has much to offer visitors. The enclosed pool also features a paddling pool, hot tub, and sauna. Just to the southeast of town lies the golf course where a round of golf costs only $3. There are two playgrounds, one at the park, and the other at the school. At the end of June teams from all over come to the annual slo-pitch tournament. The Roping Club holds events in the rodeo grounds
Stop by the Community Centre where there are card games on Tuesday nights, and the former shoe repair shop (now a laundry) in the red brick building on the west side of town is an historical building.

motel, hotel, bar, and a serviced campground with showers. You can get groceries at the convenience store attached to the car wash and delicious meals at Valley Oasis Restaurant. Also available in town is a hardware store, credit union, vehicle repair shop, and gas pumps. St. Mary’s Roman Catholic and Christian Faith Fellowship hold regular services. The library is located in the Village office. Wherever you go you will find friendly people to give you directions. Information can also be found at the RM office and the Village office.
