ing, camping and genuine western hospitality at the 6th annual Reno Rodeo on August 3 and 4, 2013. Known as the “biggest little rodeo in the West,” the
Reno Rodeo was honoured to be named Tourism Saskatchewan’s Event of the Year for 2011. Started in 2008 by a group of willing and committed ranchers and rodeo enthusiasts, the Reno Rodeo has grown into a respected and professionally organized event.
With nothing but an open field and dreams of a great
rodeo, volunteer work began. An awesome rodeo arena complete with grandstands, announcer’s booth, chutes, back pens, sorting pens, an alley from the timed event to the holding area – all constructed of steel – built and painted by local volunteers, now welcomes
contestants and fans from far and near. The “little cowpokes” were also included in the plan- ning and a huge, covered sandpile was added for their fun. The “Original Kids Rodeo” performance makes sure everyone is included in the weekend’s festivities. The tarp auction and wagon races for the kids are a huge hit. While enjoying the great rodeo action with exceptional bucking stock provided by Richards Rodeo Co., visitors are welcome to visit the beer gardens, eat the delicious fare provided by concessions and have a chance to win prizes drawn at random each day. The rodeo committee works to include something each year to wow and surprise the fans! Free on-site camping allows families to plan an afford- able weekend, visit and make new friends.
