Cypress Hills Vineyard & Winery, owned and operated by Marty and Marie Bohnet, is located only 20 km southwest of Maple Creek along Highway 271. Each year approximately 20,000
visitors from around the world take in self-guided vineyard tours, comple- mentary wine tastings, and food from the excellent bistro. Winery staff are knowledgeable and friendly. "We have the self-guided walking tour down through the vineyard. You can walk down and read about how the grapes grow. Certainly, we have com- plementary tastings at the tasting bar of the wines that we have available, and enjoy a nice light lunch out on the patio," said Bohnet.
Eight varieties of wines are produced
at the winery – Chinook, Sour Cherry, Rhubarb, Saskatoon Berry, Chokecherry, Spring, Black Currant & Honey, and Mead, some of which have won medals at the Canadian Wine Awards. This year the Bohnets are excited to release their newest white wine made from grapes grown at their vineyard. "We've had our own red grape wine
before, but this will be the first year for the white wine to be released," said Bohnet. "It's exciting, so exciting that we don't have a name for it yet."
