PRODUCT INNOVATIONS

Newaddition to tray range

LINPAC Packaging has added to its range of sustainable trays for meat and fish products with the launch of Rfresh® MB. The new rPET trays contain up to 95 per cent food grade post-consumer recyclate, giving customers a wider choice of environmentally sound packaging options that do not compromise on tray performance. A PP base film layer provides for stronger seal integrity and the tray can have either a lock seal or peelable film solution. The packaged foodstuffs are well protected due to the tray’s rigidity, ensuring that the product reaches the consumer in the best possible condition. Joanna Stephenson, vice president for marketing and innovation, said: “The new Rfresh MB trays complement our existing range of Rfresh PET trays which provide the same high quality performance our customers see with trays made from virgin material.” For more information visit www.linpacpackaging.com.

Genuine ribbons

Empire World Trade save over 50 per cent service costs using Toshiba genuine ribbons on their estate of Toshiba industrial printers. Simply changing from compatible ribbon to genuine Toshiba product, Empire World Trade has not only reduced service costs by over half, but can guarantee the quality of labels, essential for supply of fresh produce to Tier 1 Supermarkets. Mark

Orton, of Empire World Trade commented on the decision to change ribbon product, “We were persuaded by Nigel Wilson, of Reflex Systems, to the benefits of Toshiba genuine ribbon compared to compatible product, but to be honest we were sceptical that we would see any difference in terms of quality, and life of the print- head of the printer.” For more information email marketing@toshibatec-eu.co.uk.

TRANSPARENT DROPPER

Neopac proudly presents a unique dropper tube for eye applications. The transparent tube is characterised by excellent barrier properties, essentially against oxygen. The transparent body of the tube gives manufacturers and consumers the opportunity to check the purity of the contents. Dropper systems are often housed in small glass or plastic vials. Both these

materials have disadvantages: glass is breakable and plastic offers only slight barrier protection. Packaging expert, Neopac, therefore developed a dropper application for its barrier tubes in Oberdiessbach in Thun. For more information call (0)31 770 12 40, email sonja.gerhold@neopac.com or visit www.neopac.com.
