INDUSTRY NEWS Dole Earth launches
Dole Europe announces the launch of Dole Earth, a new website, and it is inviting consumers to take a different look at one of their favorite fruit, the banana. The website offers consumers the chance to discover everything they want to know about the banana they buy. Dole Earth is proposing to track the fruit back to its farm. As ofMay, all Dole bananas in Northern Europe now carry, on a newly designed fruit sticker, a five digit
number that identifies each farm. By entering this code at
www.dole-earth.com, consumers will be able to locate the farm where their fruit was grown. They will also find information about each farm, its certifications, and the region and country where it comes from. Consumers are also invited to take an interactive visit of a banana plantation.
