owners or riders. Some 2012 clinicians include Craig Cameron, Debbie Smith, Michael Baxter, Karen Scholl, Ross Millar, vices expert Michael Paul Hughes, and dressage queen Jane Savoie. “I help people demystify the language of how to communicate with their horses,” says Savoie. “Even though I am labeled a dressage rider, what I do is simply training. It can be tai- lored so it applies to any horse, any rider, in any discipline who wants to have better communica- tion with their horses.”
Back by popular demand, Savoie is return- ing to COEE after a very successful group of clinics last year. Her sessions will cover topics like collection (also known as self-carriage),
Horse Experts Come to Ontario for Three Days of Live Learning
Equine Expo organizers bring clinicians from Europe, USA and Canada to Ontario this June.
Outdoor Equine Expo (COEE) announces its first round of clinics and demonstrations for June’s three-day trade show. Expo organizers have tapped into new experts as well as past favourites for a line-up that will impress atten- dees at all levels.
On June 8, 9 and 10, 2012, Iron Horse Equestrian Complex will host the third annual COEE at its Burlington facility. COEE is a three day trade show which combines shopping, live demonstrations and educational clinics for horse
rhythm, suppleness, impulsion and straightness . COEE offers attendees the chance to learn from this former Olympic coach and gain lessons they can use with their own horse.
A live interactive approach to horsemanship and skill-building is what COEE is all about. Horse owners and riders will be excited to see the first round of this year’s topics:
- 2010 “Road to the Horse” champion, Craig Cameron, returns with clinics for colt starting, reining, trailer loading and The Extreme Cowboy Race™. New for 2012, COEE will offer a Junior Extreme Cowboy Race™.
- Local Ontario sidesaddle expert Debbie Smith introduces her audience to sidesaddle riding and tack.
- Horsemanship for Women clinician Karen Scholl teaches skills and techniques that apply to any discipline.
- Riders preparing for the 2012 show circuit will appreciate Michael Baxter’s pre- and post-show therapy clinics.
- Ontario’s Ross Millar is well known for his RAM Rodeo Tour and will bring his “Build A Cowboy/Cowgirl School” to COEE.
“The list is long and full of diversity,” says Canada’s Outdoor Equine Expo president Doug Wagner. “Our team is excited to bring these clin- ics to riders who might not have time to travel long distances to see them. We bring the experts to Ontario.”
All clinics are free to audit with the price of admission and no pre-registration is required. Canada’s Outdoor Equine Expo also offers horse health and industry seminars with veterinarians and experts from the University of Guelph, Cale- don Equine Hospital, Barefoot Horse Canada, and more.
Canada’s Outdoor Equine Expo will be held on June 8, 9, and 10, 2012 at Iron Horse Equestri- an Complex in Burlington, ON. For more infor- mation, visit www. Equine
Expo.ca or call 1-800- 563-5441.
