Ride-em Cowboy… and Cowgirl! Action-Packed Cedar Run Rodeo Returns this August

The Blue Mountains, ON – Yeeeeehaawww… put a big X on your calendar this coming August 24-26, cuz gal darn it, Cedar Run Rodeo Weekend is returning for a weekend of fast-paced, Western-themed action the whole family will enjoy! Presented by Rawhide Rodeo Company and held at Cedar Run Horse Park, the international rodeo competition will feature professional riders from Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Brazil, including top hands vying for the number one spot in bull riding. “Once again we’re thrilled to be a stop on the 2012 Professional Rodeo Season Series and to partner with an award-winning compa- ny like Rawhide to bring an action-packed

weekend to our local community,” said Cedar Run Director of Events & Marketing Nicole Paara in announcing the 2012 event dates. The Weekend kicks off with a good ol’ fashioned country hoedown on Friday evening in the streets of Thornbury, sponsored by the Thornbury Business Improvement Area (BIA). Cowgirls and cowboys will be on hand for autographs and trick roping demonstrations as everyone enjoys live music line dancing and a hearty cowboy dinner.

A true spectator sport, the rodeo on Satur- day and Sunday will showcase bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, team roping, calf roping and more as competitors

vie for tens of thousands in prize money and coveted world championship points. An expanded Kids Zone is also returning to give young enthusiasts a chance to try their own hand at calf roping, herding and more. “With live entertainment scheduled throughout the weekend and a larger than ever vendor area planned, this is one event that has a little bit of everything,” said Paara, noting that the professional rodeo is also a great opportunity to showcase ongoing development at the world-class event facility.

A portion of the proceeds from Cedar Run Rodeo Weekend will be used to support Camp Maple Leaf, a year-round camp for mili-

tary families that enable children to reconnect with par- ents in a nurturing environment after a tour of duty. Further details about Cedar Run Rodeo Weekend are available at www.cedarrun.ca.
