£31,000 - £36,000 Although having a family resemblance to the XK120 and

XK140, the Jaguar XK150 was radically modernised. A one piece windscreen replaced the split screen, and the wing line no longer dropped as much over the doors. The bonnet was widened, opened down to the wings, and on the roadster the bulkhead was moved back four inches to make the bonnet longer, with slimmer doors giving more interior space. The standard engine, the same as fitted to the XK140, was the 3.4 litre DOHC Jaguar straight-6 rated at 180bhp, although most cars were fitted with the SE engine that had a modified cylinder head with larger exhaust valves and produced 210bhp. Built from 1957 through to 1961 the later cars (1960 onwards) were

fitted with the 3.8 litre engine. Dunlop disc brakes appeared for the first time although it was theoretically possible to order a car with drum brakes and a choice of wire wheels or standard wheels could be specified. Suspension and chassis were very similar to that on the XK140. These were high performance, well appointed sports touring cars and could cope with long distances with alacrity. This particular XK150 was originally registered in the USA and

repatriated to the UK in 1989. A total restoration project was undertaken in 2002 with the car being converted to righthand drive at the same time. Photographic evidence is available of the project although it appears that the body and chassis were in good order needing little repair. After completing the restoration, the car was stored and re-commissioned in 2006. Finished in Old English White with contrasting red leather trim, this Jaguar XK150 coupé is in splendid order and ready to be enjoyed by the new owner. Supplied with a V5 registration document, together with a valid MoT test certificate and a matching numbers heritage certificate, this Jaguar sounds as good as she looks.
