Youth Programs
Youth Basketball Open Gym Lisle Park District provides supervised gym time for kids at the Lisle Junior High gym. This is a great opportunity for partici- pants in the LPD youth basketball program to get some extra practice time on their own. Parents must sign consent waivers before each open gym session. Children who are dropped off without a signed waiver will not be al- lowed to participate. Nonresidents are charged $7 per visit. Register on site at Lisle Junior High, not at the Recre- ation Center. Grade Date

Big Shots
This class is the perfect pre-curser to our Junior Basketball League. Participants will be taught at an advanced pace through the use of junior basketballs and down-sized hoops. The program will emphasize positioning, passing, defense, and shooting. Participants will get to play a game during the 6th week to show off all of their new skills! Nothing But Net Basketball Camp The Nothing But Net Basketball Camp is designed to create an encouraging environment focused on teaching the funda- mentals of basketball with an emphasis on developing proper shooting technique, footwork, and offensive moves. Each camper’s skill level will be assessed and used for proper place- ment within the camp activities. Every day will include time for detailed instruction, drills & skill development, and struc- tured games integrating newly obtained skills. Campers will receive a camp shirt. Tuition scholarships are available for this program; apply at the Community Center or call 964-3410 ext. 4305 for more details. The camp will be held at Kennedy Jun- ior High. Kennedy Junior High Students pay resident rate. Coach Creighton Getting (Kennedy Jr High) will be the lead instructor.

Basketball Olympics Compete against yourself and others in the areas of shooting, passing and dribbling in the 4th annual Basketball Olympics. Participants will go through a variety of skills and challenge tests to determine the winners of each division. Divisions will be: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15. Boys and girls will be scored according to place or score they receive in the event. The winners will receive plaques, medals or ribbons. Baseball Skills Is your child looking to sharpen their skills before league play begins, or just looking for a little extra help in all areas? Join our instructor as they teach and review the proper skills all players need to succeed. What better way to prepare for the upcoming season? Children will get to participate in a scaled down game the last week to put all their new skills to the test! Participants will need to bring a baseball glove each week. Come and learn the basic attacks, defenses and footwork of sport fencing taught by Will Mego of the Naperville Fencing Club. The ‘how to’s’ are taught and participants do basic bout- ing.
