bad news being reported, I was reconciled to a poor trading month. It is the 18th August at the time of writing this month’s column and I am very pleased to report an extremely busy month so far

be more prolonged trouble for this to become a trend. I am sure that people are fed up with waiting for the right moment to buy and sell and have decided to just get on with it. Whilst the Regatta will be over once you read this, we’d normally expect the estate agency to be quiet that
week. The Regatta is a fantastic showcase for Dartmouth and, with all the visitors and potential house buyers in town, some make their decision to buy in Dartmouth and come house hunting in September and October, two of our busiest months in the office. The long range weather forecast is encouraging and I wish the organisers a highly successful year.
As a matter of interest if you are making improvements to your home make sure you obtain a FENSA certificate when replacing windows as this can create delays or worse when coming to sell. We have problems with a couple of sales due to a lack of the correct documentation. Also, building certificates, listing building consents and correct planning permissions are essential.
