We really hope that people come away from the Festival feeling disappointed; but only by the fact that they didn’t have time to do everything. With things happening all over town and in Kingswear that goal gets more likely every year.


WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 19TH Food Festival Quiz at Café Alf Resco. Tables selling fast for this. *


THURSDAY OCTOBER 20TH Children’s Festival for local schools and toddlers all day then a children’s tasting tea party at 4:30pm.


Grand Opening Event in Royal Avenue Gardens at 5:00 including the delivery of the Festival Beer specially brewed and brought downriver by the Bridgetown Brewery. Open to all.


- Join Mitch, Fergus, Holly and Jane for a demonstration and chat whilst dinner is served by Festival Head Chef Serin Aubrey of Anzac Street Bistro assisted by Tom Woods and the staff of the Dart Marina Hotel. £45 per head*.


FRIDAY OCTOBER 21ST Watch chefs representing all of South Devon in Royal Avenue gardens. Shop on the South Embankment. Join Dartmouth Caring for a cream tea. Join an early evening wine tasting at the Royal Castle in association with Blue Chip Holidays*. Visit the Ship Inn in Kingswear for the Food Festival Beer Festival.


SATURDAY OCTOBER 22ND Watch chefs from across the South West in Royal Avenue Gardens. Take the South West Wine Challenge with Liam


Steevenson. Shop on the South Embankment and in the Market Square. Join an early evening wine tasting in association with Blue Chip Holidays*. Visit the Ship Inn in Kingswear for the Food Festival Beer Festival . Chill out with Coast and Country Cottages and Café Alf Fresco in Royal Avenue Gardens.

Join Susy Atkins and Matt Tebbutt for Saturday Morning Kitchen Live in the Flavel with guests including Chris Horridge and Festival Chairman David Jones. Watch Susy and Matt go head to head cracking crab. 11am – 1pm, Tickets £5.


SUNDAY OCTOBER 23RD Watch chefs from Dartmouth and further afield in Royal Avenue Gardens. Shop on the South Embankment and in the Market Square. Visit the Ship Inn in Kingswear for the Food Festival Beer Festival.


Join Festival Favourites, the Kingswear Landladies, for Sunday Brunch in the Flavel. David, Kit and Tony will demonstrate whilst Serin from Anzac Street Bistro and Rosie from Sharpham Vineyard Café serve brunch, coffee, bucks fizz and Bloody Marys*. Chill out with Coast and Country Cottages and Café Alf Fresco in Royal Avenue Gardens.

Our line up of chefs gets better and better and we’ve got a wide range representing Dartmouth, South Devon and a few from further afield. We’ll have a full programme of demonstrations running in Royal Avenue Gardens on


Friday, Saturday and Sunday and there will always be something fun and interesting going on

Henry Dimbleby and Claire Ptak are all cooking with Mitch Tonks at the Seahorse during the course of the


Festival. They will also be making public appearances on stage at various times. Full details in the next issue.

J.P.Bidart from the Millbrook Inn in South Pool, Richard Hunt, Executive Chef at The Grand Hotel Torquay and Ben Kingdon from the Cary Arms will be representing South Devon.


For those looking for Michelin style inspiration


Darren Brown will come out from behind the pass at Angelique and will be joined by Alan Murchison, Will Holland and Chris Horridge from the 10 in 8 group. These are some of the most influential guys in British cooking so we’re very privileged to have them at the Festival.
