Emotional Detox! a similar benefit! E
Many of us are carrying the emotional scars and so-called ‘baggage’ we have accumulated as we’ve navigated our way through life’s experiences. Do you still harbour guilt or shame over events which occurred many years ago? Are there niggling resentments and petty jealousies you know are beneath you but can’t help feeling from time to time? Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by sadness or melancholy? Have you suffered a bereavement where the grief remains unresolved and raw?
lsewhere in this magazine you can read about the benefits of detoxing your body for your better health and well-being. But as strange as it may seem, an emotional detox can have
logic and reason of the conscious mind, which seeks to put everything into a nice, neat, tidy order, and goes straight to the seat of these difficult or painful feelings and memories; the subconscious mind. There, the issues can be safely resolved and left behind where they belong: in the past.
I am often asked if everybody can be hypnotised. Almost everybody can; about 5% of the population cannot. To help you decide whether you might be a good candidate for hypnotherapy, consider these questions:
1. Do you often drift off into a daydream? 2. When driving, especially a familiar route, do you arrive at your destination with no memory of parts of your journey?
Any lessons we needed to learn from the tough times we’ve lived through have been learned, so there is no necessity to hang on to the bad memories, pain, and negative conditioning.
But how best to resolve these thorny issues and let go of the past?
Clinical Hypnotherapy is perhaps the deepest and yet swiftest method of working through and resolving these deep-seated emotional problems. It cuts through the
3. When involved in a book, film, or hobby, does time fly past without you noticing? 4. Do you find yourself so absorbed in something which interests you that you become unaware of your surroundings? If you answered ‘yes’ to one or more, you would be able to undergo hypnotherapy. The scenes described above are all natural, normal trance states, as is hypnosis. The only difference is that the scenes above are self-induced, and hypnotherapy is induced with the help of a suitably registered and qualified hypnotherapist (over which you have complete control).
