Allan Ehrlick, President of the Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF), is pleased to announce that Dianne Graham has been hired to resume the role as Executive Director, a position that has been vacant for the past year. Graham assumed her responsibilities February 1, 2011 after attending the Equine Canada Convention. Graham has an extensive professional background in the telecommunications industry where she led vari- ous teams and projects in both Canada and the United States. She also has an equally extensive equine back- ground. Her family is a long time participant in the rac- ing industry – breeding, raising and racing thorough- breds for over half a century. Replacement Insurance
The OEF constantly strives to offer programs that are pertinent to its members. In response to the recent membership survey and in partnership with its insurance provider, Intercity Insurance, the OEF is pleased to introduce a new risk management compo- nent to its list of available programs. The new Income Replacement Insurance (short term disability) will be of specific interest to professionals working both in and out of the horse industry.
Mike King, Principal Broker of Intercity states, “this newest addition to our product offering will fill a long standing void in the community. This is an excellent and inexpensive risk management solution to replace income if a member in one of our partner associations is unable to work due to an unexpected injury from any cause including, but not limited to, horse related incidents.”
Eligibility is simple:
• You are a member in good standing of the Ontario Equestrian Federation
• You are working full time at the date of application • You reported income to Canadian Revenue Agency last year
Coverage can be placed immediately by way of a one page questionnaire and the cost is only $100/year for a maximum benefit of $500/week for up to 26 weeks. This offering is all the more reason/evidence to support the good work the OEF does on behalf of its provincial constituents.
