Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show

February 14, 2011 - Canada’s Out- door Farm Show has always had a love affair going with live demon- strations ... and the 2011 Show will be no exception.

On September 13, 14 and 15, Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show (COFS) will showcase multiple live demos so farmers can see the latest field and livestock equipment in action. “We love to demonstrate equipment and showcase features and benefits,” says Paul Roper, COFS Sales and Demonstrations Consultant. “If producers can see equipment working, they can figure out for themselves what is best for their operations and then make informed purchasing decisions.” Last year, COFS organized its largest field demonstration ever. More than 20 pieces of tillage equip- ment rumbled down the Southwest Demo Field. In 2011, tillage equip- ment companies will focus their demonstration entries on technolo- gies that can effectively break through the tougher corn stubble cre-

ated by new stronger genetics. Another new watchword at the 2011 Show will be “bio.” This includes a bigger and better offering of biogas technologies plus a new biomass field plot. “We are working with Ontario Soil and Crop Improve- ment Association to showcase three types of biomass,” says Doug Wagn- er, the Show’s Vice-President. “We’ll be planting two acres each of miscanthus, switchgrass and a prairie grass mixture so that we can demon- strate planting, harvesting and pel- letization equipment.” This three- year commitment on the part of COFS will allow farmers to get some hands-on exposure to this fascinating new technology as it develops over the next few years.

No question about it, Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show has a passion for demonstrations and their impor- tance to exhibitors and attendees alike. Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will be held on September 13, 14 and 15, 2011 in Woodstock, ON. For more information, visit www.Out- doorFarmShow.com

These new major field demos are just two of the many demonstra- tions in the 2011 line-up. Returning again with new additions will be the pasture and grazing demo, robotic milking demos, automatic calf feed- ingdemos, wood-cutting demos, bio- gas demo, swine demos, animal han-
