Miracle at St. Anna chronicles the story of four African-American soldiers who are members of the US Army as part of the all-black 92nd “Buffalo Soldier” Division that fought against the Fascists and Nazis in Italy during World War II.


They experience the tragedy and triumph of World War II as they find themselves trapped behind Nazi lines and separated from their Squad after one of them risks his life to save an orphan Italian boy.


Directed by Spike Lee from a screenplay written by James Mc- Bride, the author of the acclaimed novel of the same name, the film explores a deeply inspiring, powerful story drawn from history, that transcends national boundaries, language, race and class to touch the goodness within us all, the Human Race.

Synopsis: Miracle at St. Anna is based on the true story of four African American soldiers stationed in German occupied Italy during World War II. Separated from their unit and trapped behind Nazi lines, ranking officer Aubrey Stamps (Derek Luke), hot-headed Bishop Cummings (Michael Ealy), radioman Hector Negron (Laz Alonso) and gentle giant Sam Train (Omar Benson Miller) survive a shocking massacre, rescuing a young Italian boy in the process. The five make their way to the nearest village, where they join forces with the local opposition, risking their lives and gathering intelligence for a nation that considers them second-class citizens.
