August, 2014 B&K Launches new Waveform Generators

Yorba Linda, CA — B&K Precision has launched its new 4060 Series line of dual channel function/arbitrary waveform generators. The series includes three models that generate sine waveforms up to 80MHz (4063), 120MHz (4064), and 160MHz (4065). Equipped with an advanced pulse generator and high-performance 512k-point arbitrary waveform generator on one channel, these instruments are ideal for use in applications requiring high signal fidelity with extensive mod- ulation and arbitrary waveform capabilities at a value price point. Unique to the 4060 Series are its ad -

vanced pulse generation capabilities. The instru- ments can generate pulses with low jitter <100 ps and output 12 ns width pulses at frequencies as low as 0.1Hz — a feature not typically found in DDS generators. Rise and fall times are also adjustable within a large range, e.g. users can out- put pulses with 6 ns rise times combined with 6 s fall times. All models provide two independent out-

put channels with a large 4.3-in. color LCD dis- play, rotary control knob, numeric keypad, and intuitive function keys to make waveform adjust-

variety of modulation schemes for modulated sig- nal applications: amplitude and frequency modu- lation (AM/FM), double sideband amplitude modu- lation (DSB-AM), amplitude and frequency shift keying (ASK/FSK), phase modulation (PM), and pulse width modulation (PWM). Equipped with a high performance 14-bit,

ments quick and easy. Other standard features include a built-in counter, Sync output, trigger I/O terminal, and external 10 MHz reference clock input and output for synchronization of the instru- ment to another generator. The 4060 Series offers linear and logarithmic sweep function and a wide

A front panel USB host port is available for users to conveniently save waveforms and setups on a USB flash drive or to connect the optional USB-to-GPIB adapter for GPIB connectivity. Miyachi America: Linear DC Weld Control

Monrovia, CA — Miyachi America Corporation has introduced its MDA- 10000A ultra-fast, high current linear DC weld control, which can operate in constant current mode, constant volt- age mode, or both. Partic ularly well suited to series welding applications, the MDA-10000A is suitable for weld- ing optical sensor parts, crystal oscil- lators, and projection welding of elec- tronic components.

Welding control unit. Connecting multiple power sup-

plies achieves high power welding in a short time frame. Up to twelve MDA-10000A power supplies can be connected in a slave/master configu- ration to design just the right system for high power/short process welding. One master unit controls all connect- ed units, eliminating the need to set separate weld schedules. The unit has controls that collectively stabi- lize current from all connected units. The weld controller is equipped

with three control modes: constant current, constant voltage or both. The constant current mode applies constant current to a workpiece regardless of the resistance, ensuring stable welding. Constant voltage mode stabilizes voltage from the beginning of the welding, reducing weld splash. And if both constant current and constant voltage are selected, constant voltage eliminates weld splash in the initial weld phase and constant current follows up to support stable welding. Control tim- ing can be precisely set up to support

specific application needs. Contact: Miyachi America Corp.,
