s electronics technology contin- ues to advance and grow more complex, the need for thorough
traceability during manufacturing is essential. Not only is this traceabili- ty necessary for the end-user to en- sure that their product is safe and re- liable, but it is extremely helpful to the manufacturer to better regulate process and quality controls. Through partnering, Saline Lectron- ics recently implemented the Track, Trace, and Control (TTC) system from Cogiscan throughout Saline’s 110,000-ft.2 allows Saline to offer customers detailed end-to-end trace- ability of product flow at every step of the manufacturing process. Electronics manufacturing ser -
vice (EMS) traceability is an impor- tant part of any electronic manufac- turing operation, and the TTC sys- tem provides visibility and verifica- tion of materials and product status throughout the entire manufacturing process. The system helps to show-

Whether you're an R&D engineer designing cables for a new product or a production worker checking hundreds of cables an hour, Cable- Eye's unique graphic wiring display tells you what you need to know clearly and immediately. Graphically see missing or shorted conductors, miswired cables, reversed diodes, and backward connectors. Print crystal- clear test results including the wiring schematic. Graphically compare two cables by alternating the display between your test result and the ideal cable. Run a high-speed resis- tance test loop while you flex the cable to check for

case real-time data for work-in- progress, implements a check-and- balance alert system to remove hu-
man error, and offers a history of component lifecycle and traceability in the event of a recall. Looking to
provide the most comprehensive data for customers who require it, while also improving quality control throughout the factory, Saline Lec- tronics recently installed this TTC system in its static-controlled manu- facturing facility in Saline, MI. Mario Sciberras, President and
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Saline, said: “Saline Lectronics chose to partner with Cogiscan for the Track, Trace, and Control system in order to provide a greater level of traceability to customers who require it on different assemblies. Overall, implementing the system was an easy decision for me because of the holistic, factory-wide benefits it pro- vides to our manufacturing team. I am very encouraged by the advanced level of data collection and process control that we will receive by utiliz- ing TTC.” The traceability system at
Saline is currently running on two Juki high-speed SMT lines, five auto-
