TREVOR MARSHALL

The head-end brakeman on Extra 80 East gives CNR M233 a roll-by inspection as the mixed train rolls through St. Williams, Ontario, en route to Port Rowan (above). The com- bine is a mixed media kit from MLW Services. Having lined the switch back onto the main, the brakeman gives Extra 80 West a roll-by inspection in front of the depot in St. Williams, Ontario (page 88, top). Trevor scratchbuilt the depot from photos. It features board by board construction and a working order board. Trevor also scratchbuilt the trees in this scene. The baggage cart is a laser-cut kit from Port Lines Hobby Supply. CNR mixed train M233 (page 88, bottom) rolls between apple orchards as it arrives at its destination –Port Rowan, Ontario. The Milwaukee Road boxcar is a brass import from River Raisin Models. The apple orchard includes about 100 trees built from Woodland Scenics kits.

and the occasional mooing of cows. The rolling stock is nicely weathered and the locomotives, built for Trevor by Si- mon Parent from kits by S Scale Loco & Supply, run and sound as great as they look. With the S scale supplement coinci- dentally appearing in this issue, it seems appropriate to share some pho- tos of Trevor’s wonderful S scale layout here in the pages of EDITORS NOTE- BOOK. If you’d like to see and read more about his layout, be sure to check out Trevor’s on-line blog.

Valley Forge RPM meet (page 54) and you ’d like to attend one yourself, here are two upcoming RPM meets. They are a great place to meet other model- ers, see their work and maybe share some of your own. August 8 and 9: in Collinsville, Illi-

nois (St. Louis area), at the Gateway Convention Center. Website: http://icg. home.mindspring.com/rpm/stlrpm.htm. September 12 and 13: Mid-Atlantic RPM in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at the Wingate by Wyndham. Website: http:// www.marpm.org/.

Before the container trains and big diesels, we take a fond look back at the old Susquehanna operations from Little Ferry to Stroudsburg. Features many rare black and white scenes of Decapods, streamliners, Alco RS-I’s, and Budd RDC's along with neighboring roads L&NE and NYO&W. A detailed, complete history right up to the 1980s!
