Athletics New Wave Fall Youth Lacrosse


Fall is the time to PLAY LACROSSE in Downers Grove! This 4-week camp is a great way for players to get a stick in their hands and learn from the coaches at New Wave Lacrosse. Beginners and intermediate players are welcome. Participants will be separated by age and skill level to ensure proper instruction level. This program is instructional and will focus on drills and stickwork.


Beginners will learn the important fundamentals and techniques needed to compete in live games. This will include lots of fast-paced instruction and fun drills. Learn the positions and their responsibilities. Skills learned: throwing, catching, dodges, defensive skills, face-offs and more!


Intermediate players will expect to have a handle on the fundamentals as they will be challenged with higher level skill work. These players will start learning the game at a higher level. Skills learned: creating separation, shooting on 

IGLA Girls Beginner Clinic Ready to start lacrosse? Join IGLA this Spring for a weekly one-hour clinic for the younger lacrosse player. These clinics are exclusively for 1st & 2nd grade girls that want to learn the fundamentals of lacrosse. The goals of this program are to introduce lacrosse and develop basic skills for our youngest players, using fun games and coaching techniques. Practices will be held once a week for one hour. No equipment needed, IGLA will have equipment to borrow for all clinics. For more information, please contact 

This fast-paced game gets your kids moving and dodging like never before. Participants learn the rules of dodgeball and the strategies to beat the toughest players, including their parents, who will also play on the last day. Come on out and learn the 4 D’s - dodge, dip, duck and dive. 

We will learn two routines, work on freestyle moves, and dance to some of the classic line dances like Cupid Shuffle and Cha Cha Slide. On the last day, we will perform for friends and family to show off new moves. 

10 Autumn 2013  IGLA Girls Lacrosse League


Be part of a youth lacrosse league exclusively for girls from Chicago, north, northwest, west, and south suburbs. The emphasis of this program is to develop the girl within the sport of lacrosse. The goals of the program are to understand the rules of lacrosse, active teamwork, sportsmanship, and foster personal development in a respectful environment led by positive coaching. All players will receive equal playing time. Pink levels practice once a week for 1.5 hours and play games on Sunday afternoons. Game locations rotate within your division. Sunday, September 8 will be the first practice of the Fall season for everyone and games will begin the following Sunday, September 15. Each player must have their own stick, goggles and a mouth guard for all practices and games. You can find more information about equipment at iglax.org (found under the Get Ready to Play tab).
