Diamond Jubilee Concert As the nation embraced the Queen’s diamond jubilee, the highly anticipated pop concert, proved to be as exciting as expected. T e show, which took place in front of Buckingham Palace, featured musical legends including Sir Cliff Richard, Sir Tom Jones, Sir Elton John and Annie Lennox. T e Queen watched on as stars from across the eras of her reign entertained the thousands of fl ag waving enthusiasts. However, in spite of the entourage of legendary acts, the highlight for many was HRH Prince Charles’ resounding speech, which praised his mother for her tireless eff orts over the past six decades.

Team GB in Southport for Daniel Purvis
handover after party T e Olympics returned to Southport last night with local Team GB Olympians donning their medals for a handover after party for Brazilian Olympic performer Simone Reeves. T e event began at the stylish Vincent hotel with guests being treated to canapés and cocktails provided by Head Chef Carter. Lord Street came alive with a huge Samba Band and Brazilian dancers who led the VIP’s carnival style from the Vincent Hotel to sister restaurant the Warehouse Kitchen & Bar where Head Chef Mini devised a Brazilian themed gourmet dinner. After the meal there was an auction for unique signed London 2012 Olympic memorabilia in aid of T e Steven Gerrard Foundation.

Catherine Tyldesley of Coronation Street fame wore a long fl owing pink dress, while others, such as Anna Shaffi , the Hollyoaks up-and-comer decided to go sexy and short. T e coveted Sexiest Female award went to Michelle Keegan for the fourth year in a row, and with the demure purple dress she was sporting it was not diffi cult to see why. Danny Miller received the Best Actor award for his role as Aaron Livesy in Emmerdale, looking handsome in a full suit and waistcoat.
