as best we can. We often express this urge by improving our image; an act that, in turn, helps to increase our confidence. For the ultimate image revival, the latest Karidis medispa is the place to be. Located in Harvey Nichols’ exciting new concept store Beauty Bazaar, located within the Liverpool One district, the medispa offers an extensive range of non-surgical treatments, demonstrating the exciting advancements within the beauty industry. Mr Alex Karidis, cosmetic surgeon to the stars, is behind this venture. Having run his own private practice specialising in cosmetic surgery since 1997, Mr Karidis easily counters the argument against cosmetic surgery. “I think that the people who say that don’t really understand how the psyche works and how it helps us to function in our day to day lives,” he explains. “We are not all the same. We are different with different strengths and weaknesses. We all have different shortfalls that we feel are limiting us or limiting our confidence to do what we really want to do. You may call it superficial or unnecessary that someone should have a treatment because they’re not happy with their chest but the issue is with confidence. It inhibits you”. Tis is in stark contrast to some clinics where non-surgical treatments are offered to customers even when they have problems that can only be solved through surgery. At the Medispa, Mr Karidis explains, “we can say, ‘don’t waste your time and money on this treatment because it’s not going to work’ and advise them to seek a surgical opinion,” explains Mr Karidis. “It’s important to be sincere with patients. Tey’re paying hard-earned money to have some treatments done. We have to cater for peoples’ expectations accordingly.” Clearly, customers interested in a treatment at the Medispa can be sure that they will receive honest and considered advice. Karidis. Helping people to feel more at ease with themselves is definitely at the heart of his work. Refreshingly, he is also keen to be held accountable for his work, describing cosmetic surgery as “something you immediately see on the surface” and chuckling, “you can’t hide it.
