The Warren

A

rriving at Te Warren in the dead of night on a Friday, fresh from a Christmas party, I was jaded to say the least. Pulling into Te Warren,

just a mile from Abersoch, we were met by Operations Manager Philip Walker, who guided us to our delightfully toasty lodge, nestled harmoniously into the site. It was icy cold outside but inside, the lodge was entirely welcoming and we were pleasantly surprised to see a bottle of red wine on the table waiting to be devoured. Phil assured us that he would return in the morning to give us a tour of the site. We then relaxed effortlessly into the luxury of the lodge and, as I climbed into bed, I realized how at home I had already begun to feel. Te next day, as promised, Phil returned with

a golf buggy to whisk us around what is aptly named, Te Warren, as the neighborhood rabbits hop about the area. Tis, of course, completely delighted my four year old. As we explored the stunning location, Phil explained why Te Warren has become the most sought after holiday village on the Welsh coastline, with owners being amongst some of Cheshire and the Wirral’s most influential families, including ex England Managers, and sportsmen. He refrained from mentioning any names to us, as you can imagine. Privacy is guaranteed at Te Warren. Having arrived on a crisp sunny day in December, we sat at the fully licensed beach bar enjoying a hot chocolate and looking over the stretch of white sand and beautiful blue sky. I could imagine long sunny summer days where sitting here with a G&T in hand watching the boats would feel like paradise. Te beach is overlooked by some of the most amazing lodges complete with a specious deck leading to the sandy shore. It is hard to believe that they are mobile homes when you see how highly

specified these properties are! Phil chatted about the event programme at

Te Warren. ‘WarrenFest’ is the highlight of the year. What started as a small family friendly event for the owners of lodges, has become the must attend event of the year - one I hope to be invited back for! We arrived as the Christmas celebrations were

in full swing. Santa arrived at his grotto and his reindeers were hitched to a sleigh outside for children of all ages to climb into (I did get more excited than a woman of my age should at the sight of Abs, the reindeer). Te club and restaurant are central to the

community and amazingly I met a friend and her family who have a lodge, which they adore. Te manager of Te Club, Rhiannon, was so warm and welcoming along with her team. Our children were entertained, which gave us parents a break to eat, chat and relax. Te magnificent sports facilities include three outdoor heated pools as well as an all-season indoor heated pool. For sailing enthusiasts, getting your boat into the water couldn’t be easier thanks to the slipway, which makes launching your vessel a very simple process indeed. Having stayed here, I can really see the appeal of loading the car on a Friday and taking the two

hour drive to Te Warren, where family life and luxury are both priorities. Te swimming pools, play centre, bike hire, and long beach walks all add to the owner experience. In fact, one lady- owner I met in the pool summed it up for me saying, “Tere is nothing better than arriving at Te Warren on a Friday night, switching off your brain and seeing your kids make new friends with other nice children.” You simply cannot put a price on quality

family time.
