Linedancer magazine, all the way through this edition, is looking back at its long history and here, some of the great names of the industry wanted to say a few words about the magazine and what Linedancer means to them!

Dynamite Dot

Having been a member of Linedancer Magazine from day one, I can only applaud the continued success and relevance of it still today.

Many will

make extravagant congratulations on all the aspects of the magazine and its achievements and I would be likely to agree with most of them but my main comment would be this... Through all the inevitable changes in Line dancing over the years, Linedancer Magazine has remained a constant. Always there through good times and not so good. Always striving to stay relevant to what the dancing community needs in all its contradictions and colours. Everything worthwhile needs a little pain and a lot of hard work to sustain it.

The magazine has achieved so much that it is now almost taken for granted which is a huge compliment. Congratulations for being the one constant in our Linedancing world.

My word… A 200th edition! What an incredible achievement for you all and where has all that time gone? I believe I’ve been receiving my monthly fi x for close on all those editions and wouldn’t want to be without it. Keep doing what you’re doing and here’s to the next 200 copies. Many, many congratulations.

Wow, 200th edition and 16 years old! Way to go! Linedancer Magazine and I go back a long way. I’ve been reading it from the start.

Back in the B.I. (Before internet) dark ages, magazines were our only source for new dances. Also, since I live in Japan it was hard to keep up with what was going on in the rest of the dance world. Thanks to the internet, it’s now relatively easy to get step sheets, dance videos, event fl yers etc. And on Facebook we can get updates about dance events literally as they’re happening. But to me, where Linedancer has stayed the most vital is its coverage of international news from all over the world. I really enjoy reading about what’s happening in other countries, and about dance personalities I might not otherwise have known about. It has also been important for me in not only getting news but sharing news as well. Although Line dancing has been ongoing in Japan for nearly 20 years, since most Japanese dancers don’t speak a lot of English, news about it didn’t travel much. Therefore early on, I took it upon myself to write articles about what’s going on in the Line dance world in Japan, and more recently nearby Korea. There’s nothing like the feeling you get when you open a new issue and see your own article in print. Thank you Linedancer for always graciously using my articles and helping me spread the news. I’m proud to be part of such an international community. Best wishes for another 200 issues. I hope we can grow old together.
