Here is Wayne and Ann Dawkins and Western Wranglers Line dancers from Southampton on their recent weekend away with Isle of Wight Tours at Southsea.
Halloween
Here is a selection of the witches and ghouls at Tina Argyle’s Halloween party held at Wreningham in Norfolk. It was a complete sell out that was achieved by the hard working Tina and who acquired the services of Natalie to provide the live music. All Tina’s regulars supported the event and were pleased to welcome lots of Natalie’s followers many of whom travelled many miles to attend.
David Purdy told us about scary goings on at Renes Revellers Halloween Line dance. “We played pass the parcel to Pick A Bale, most people managed to drop the parcel at some stage but luckily it was non-breakable. We converted the music for the Monster Mash to the Electric Slide and gave a prize for the scariest interpretation, won by Mary and Malcolm. Count Dracula and Morticia (Ray and Joyce ) won the fancy dress competition. There were several runners-up, including bar- stewardess Gail, who scared the living daylights out of us. The room was decorated with spiders and mini monsters, we had a shared supper of suitable Halloween fare. We played everyones’ requests and the evening ended with all dancers happily flying home on their broomsticks.”
“Thanks to Chris Price of Southern Stomp Line Dance Club for baking a tray of goodies for our Halloween Tea Dance recently, Joy Ashton told us. “She was helped by Barbara and Di, and Barbara didn’t let a little thing like a broken arm stop her getting into the spirit of the occasion! Sixty Club members turned out for a morning of dancing and afternoon tea, brewed by several witches of course! Barbara has been so brave not letting her injury stop her joining in our activities this month, she came on holiday earlier in October and is joining in our Murder Mystery later in November. It would be so easy for her to stay at home alone, but we are pleased to see her and help keep her spirits up. This is what our club is about, not just about the £5 at the door or the dances but looking after our dancers, who have become friends over the years. I am sure there are many other such clubs all over the country that have the same philosophy.”
