n February 2001, a group of pioneering biologists published a seminal paper in the academic journal Science, detailing their breakthrough in being able to sequence the human genome. Decoding the DNA that constitutes
the human genome – the genetic roadmap that holds every organism’s biological roadmap – would improve out understanding of human evolution, even our understanding about the causes of diseases, the authors proclaimed.
