he global hotel industry seems set to experience a healthy rate of
growth over the coming decade, as companies continue to increase their portfolio of properties in new and existing markets, with specific
interest in Asia-Pacific. In an interview in
November 2011, Frits van Paasschen, President and CEO of one of the world’s largest hotel and leisure companies – Starwood Hotels – said, “The opening of our 200th
