Procedure 1. Heat phase A to 85˚C-90˚C until uniform. Premix phase B and add to phase A. Heat phase C to 75˚C while stirring (Hydrate carbopol). Add phase C to phase A+B and mix with high agitation. Mixture will look non- homogeneous until phase inversion. Add phase D to phase A+B+C and mix until uniform. Cool to room temperature and adjust the pH with phase E until desired range. Note: Phase inversion will occur between 45˚C-55˚C and lotion will become smooth and uniform. Procedure At room temperature disperse phase B into phase A and stir until a homogeneous gel is formed. Heat phase D separately to 75˚C. Procedure Heat phase A and phase B separately to approximately 80˚C. Add phase A to phase B with stirring (If phase A has to be charged into the vessel first, phase B must be added without stirring). Homogenise. Cool with gentle stirring to approximately 60˚C and add phase C. Homogenise for a short time. Cool with gentle stirring and add phase D below 40˚C.
