Ironwood Intros 16 x 16 BGA Socket


Burnsville, MN — Ironwood Elec tron - ics has recently introduced a new high performance BGA socket product line using special elastomer capable of high speed, low inductance, high endurance and wide temperature applications. The SM-BGA-9006 sock- et is designed for 16 x 16mm package size and operates at bandwidths up to 40GHz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. The socket is also designed to dis- sipate few watts with compression screw and can be customized up to 100watts with modified fin design on top of the screw and adding an axial flow fan. The contact resistance is typ- ically 15 milliohms per pin. The socket connects all pins with 40GHz band- width on all connections.

constructed with high performance and low inductance elastomer con- tactors. The temperature range is -55 to +150°C. Pin self-inductance is 0.10nH and mutual inductance is 0.007nH. Capacitance to ground is 0.069pF. Current capacity is 4amps per pin. The socket works with such ICs as STM’s LFBGA, 16 x 16mm
