March, 2012 Grieve Intros Jumbo 500° Curing Oven
Round Lake, IL — Grieve Corp. has introduced No. 1019, a jumbo 500°F (260°C) electrically-heated walk-in batch oven, currently used for curing
coatings onto large discs at the cus- tomer facility. Workspace (inside) dimensions for this oven measure 18 x 18-ft. x 10-ft. H (5.5 x 5.5m x 3m H)).
Heaters are installed in Incoloy-
sheathed tubular elements to heat the oven chamber — 260kW heaters; — while a total of 66,000 CFM gener- ated by two 30-HP recirculating blowers provides combination airflow to the workload.
cooling of the oven chamber. The oven is sectioned into four pieces for shipping convenience. All safety equipment required
for handling flammable solvents, including explosion-venting door hardware, is provided on No. 1019.

Phoenix, AZ — Suntron Corporation has successfully developed a 01005 passive component manufacturing process and completed a build for a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) for a high reliability defense customer. According to Jon Saunders,
Suntron’s Methuen, MA plant man- ager, “With careful planning prior to

the actual build, our assembly with the 01005 components was very suc- cessful. We are pleased to offer this leading-edge technology to our cus- tomers at a high level of quality and reliability. The smaller component size
allows for a higher density board, which is essential in keeping our cus- tomers ahead of the increasingly competitive market.” This new solution was assem-
bled for a large defense contractor, but it has applications in a variety of markets including aerospace, med- ical and industrial. The highly com- plex board has more than 124 place- ments of 01005 components requir- ing the control of many variables during assembly. The 01005 case size is half the
size of the 0201, previously consid- ered to be the smallest case size in Surface Mount Technology. Due to the component’s tiny size, well- planned modifications to the paste application and placement processes were necessary to achieve success. In addition, the company has
the expertise and dedicated re - sources, including a state-of-the-art imaging machine, to inspect the printed circuit boards (PCB) and detect defects. Suntron Corporation currently
holds NADCAP and AS9100 certifi- cations for the A&D industry and
ISO:13485 for medical. Contact: Suntron Corp.,
