Dear Readers

Welcome to the February issue of Guild News, where we’re throwing off the cold shackles ofWinter and looking optimistically towards Spring, embracing our love of the beauty business asValentine’s Day approaches.

Whilst it’s lovely to show your other half how much you care on 14th February, this is a great time of year to fall back in love with your business or career as a beauty professional.

After the hecticmonths over the festive period, now’s the time to spend some quality time working on your business or career. Make sure you have a plan of action in place for 2012 so that you’re notmissing any opportunities.

If you’re a therapist or nail technician looking to build on your experience, plan when you want to take extra training courses so that you can book the time off work and save for the course fees. You can never learn toomuch so make themost of every opportunity offered to you.Take a look at our College Directory on the new-look BeautyServe.comfor courses near you.

If you’ve been flirting with the idea of starting your own beauty business or opening your own salon, why not spend some time looking into how feasible this is. Do you have what it takes to be your own boss and would your start-up business survive during these challenging economic times? Give some attention to your business plan and, if you feel confident, make that long-termcommitment.

If your passion needs reigniting, a visit to this season’s trade events, where you can network with thousands of other like-minded salon owners, therapists and nail technicians, is sure to be just the spark you need!

And don’t forget to show yourself a little love thismonth, you deserve it.

Best wishes Melissa Dennis Editor
