People say you should never work with family or friends. However, this is certainly not the case for sisters JulieMorris and Caroline Hibbert, who have worked with each other for over 23 years and never had a family feud.
Located on themain street of Dorridge and surrounded by independent hairdressers and quaint shops, the family run salon welcomes on average 240 loyal clients each week and over the past nine years has gone fromstrength to strength.
The red and black themed salon has a relaxed, friendly and welcoming vibe, proudly displaying their Bio Sculpture products in their reception area.
With a vast collection of Bio Sculpture gels to choose from, their clients are spoilt for choice. Salon Spy visited the salon to chat to Julie and get the lowdown on owning your own salon.
How did you and Caroline come to open your salon?
“OurMumowned a hair and beauty salon for 15 years and we both worked there, as did our eldest sisterAnnette, however when the owner of the building said he was going to knock it down, ourMumdecided it was the right time to retire.
“Not wanting to leave the salon, Caroline and I began searching for another building to rent where we could focus on nails and beauty and also offer our existing clients somewhere else to enjoy their treatments.
We now have nine nail technicians, three beauty therapists and four receptionists.”
Why did you choose to only offer Bio Sculpture?
“Bio is a fantastic company and has been around for years so has done its test of time. Other products will come and go, but Bio will
stay.The packaging looks professional, the colour, quality and choice of product in general is better.
“Also, over the past five years gel overlays have been a lotmore popular than extensions.
