What we liked: Finn really enjoyed the swan paddleboat ride and the miniature train, both of which were free. What we loved: How close you can get to the animals. Making our way through the park we drove past giraffes, elephants, lions and monkeys. It was like being in Africa! There were even areas we could explore on foot and we were able to feed the wallabies. Don’t forget: You will have to queue for everything when it’s busy, but it doesn’t take too long to get through.

Sometimes it can seem like there’s not a lot to be happy about, but on 7 October we’re urging you to show your teeth for World Smile Day. The British Dental Foundation found that smiling can improve mood, so even if you are feeling down, try faking it – you might be surprised!
