Cafe Mambo
carefree attitude and friendly staff, another perfect place down by the port.
SOAP CALLE ALFONSO XII Unlike the name suggests, this is not a bath house; it is, however, a gay bar. Near the walls of Dalt Vila, this place is always buzzing, especially in the courtyard from about midnight. They have an upstairs bar called Soap Up, and a small club called Soap Club. Expert selection music-wise, with deep groove tech vibes.
VEINTOSS CALLE DE LA VIRGIN One of the best bars simply because they serve the best Mojitos, this crazy little shabby chic joint mixes up ’70s furnishings, recycled furniture and collected knick knacks. Music-wise, it’s lots of sing-a-long ’80s electro pop classics. Not that anyone is singing along, because they are all too busy chatting. A great place to take some hilarious holiday pics.
SAN ANTONIO
AKWA WEST END One of the better West End bars. It’s a surfer beach bar with an ultra chilled-out vibe, and the DJ box is inside, located
Talamanca Bar
within a speedboat. The owner goes by the name Fish and his clientèle drink like fishes too. Drinks are cheap, naturally.
BN3 SAN AN BAY BN3 is known for being a popular pre- party destination, with lots of the disco buses leaving from there, whether it be to Tiësto at Privilege, or Carl Cox at Space. Judge Jules also pops by on a Sunday to do a quick warm-up set before Judgement. Cheap beer, good banter.
BAY BAR AVENIDA DR FLEMING An often-undiscovered treat by holidaymakers, but once found, you will return each time. Great cocktails, very relaxed vibes and occasional fire performers and other circus acts. The garden area, with cushion-lined beds, is one of the island’s best-kept secrets.
CAFE MAMBO SUNSET STRIP A place that needs no introduction. Always advisable to get down early if you want a table, or try perching on the wooden benches at the front. A great pre-party spot to hear all the Pacha lot do their warm-ups. Pete Tong presents his Radio 1 show live from Mambo, the Defected DJs come down on a Saturday and on Sunday, you will find one of Luciano’s gang behind the decks.
BOTTOMS UP! IBIZA TOWN
BASE BAR CALLE GARIJO Located near the end of Ibiza Town port, this little bar has been known to be the starting point for many of the island’s DJs. Popular with the music industry crowd, you might see the odd celebrity here. The handsome and beautiful bar staff are a bonus and the drinks are delicious, if a little bit pricey.
GRIAL AVENIDA DE AGOSTO You can pretty much always grab a seat and the music they pump out of the soundsystem is of high quality. The barmaids are sexy as hell. The drinks are average prices, but on the plus side,
One of the most sociable islands on the planet, Ibiza offers a multitude of beach bars, hip hangouts and trendy drinking dens. So whether you are in the mood for classy cocktails, romantic drinks or some more boisterous boozing — it has it all. Cheers!
they come in gigantic glasses. Alfresco drinking with good music, what more could you want? Oh, and Pacha is within stumbling distance.
LO CURA CALLE ANTONIO MARI RIBAS Known as the tiny bar in Ibiza Town, don’t try and attempt to squeeze a small army of you in there. It’s the intimate cosy size that gives it its charm. Somehow, despite the size, they have managed to fit in a DJ booth, and big club residents occasionally pass through.
ROCK BAR CALLE GARIJO Located next to Base Bar, there is a slightly older crowd here, but also a less pretentious one. Fun because of its
