Rittal, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of enclosures and accessories for the electrical, electronic and datacommunications industries, explains its Network Rail-approved products
Stand A25 R
ittal are proud to announce that their CS outdoor enclosure now has PADS
Network Rail approval certifi cate number PAO5/04814. The enclosure and inte- grated equipment is now extensively and successfully used for Long Line PA appli- cations and is approved to house telecoms equipment which is designated as not be- ing core to the safe operation of the railway infrastructure. Permitted applications in- clude SISS Equipment.
Features of the Rittal product are its light- weight AlMg3 construction providing easy sighting of the product and at the same time, providing exceptional corrosion re- sistance. The double walled construction also provides high levels of protection against solar gain and an anti-graffi ti nano coating provides protection against vandal- ism. Rittal offer a number of plinth options including concrete and stainless steel.
Rittal’s climate control components includ- ing fans, fi lters, thermostats and humidity control provide the perfect operating envi- ronment whilst Rittal’s control and moni- toring, via the CMC range of products, en- sure that the environment and alarms can be monitored continuously. Twin-walled outdoor enclosures are used when active equipment has climate control in the out- door sector. Doubled side walls, doors and rear walls reduce the infl uence of sunlight using the chimney effect.
Due to the same system platform, system accessories from the indoor enclosure range can be used in a wide variety of appli- cations. Everything can be combined with- out problem, such as 482.6mm (19 inch) mounting angles or metric mounting an- gles, partial mounting plates or installation with component shelves and rail systems.
Rittal also offer a range of wall and pole mounted outdoor enclosures. These are constructed in accordance with the twin- walled enclosure within an
enclosure
principle. Designed to impress, the cover has a concealed fastener and the entire enclosure is manufactured from aluminium with additional powder coating, thus combining protection against corrosion with environmental friendliness. Rittal offers a broad range of opportunities for
individual interior installation.
Our formula is very simple: Rittal’s prod- ucts are as varied as its customers and the requirements they place on our perfor- mance. This is Rittal’s greatest strength. Extendibility and modularity, from indi- vidual enclosures to climate control solu- tions through to accessories, are our yard- sticks. Conditions can be extreme, ranging from permafrost regions, where tempera- tures are a constant minus 30°C, to the subtropical heat of the equator, to name but two examples. Challenge us! We have more than one solution.
Rittal is one of the world’s largest enclosure and packaging solutions manufacturers. An intelligent modular infrastructure ‘Rit- tal – The System’ enables an appreciation of the complete range of Rittal’s product solutions, tools, software and technical competence.
European and global networks predomi- nantly run on Rittal’s solution, utilising enclosure technologies, electronics pack- aging, power distribution, UPS, climate control and IT Solutions, including high density cooling, kiosks, control and moni- toring solutions, fuel cells, renewable ener- gy solutions along with the integration and service to support these technologies. Rit- tal’s standard range of enclosure systems is compliant with LUL specifi cations for fi re safety performance of materials having passed the test criteria in 2007.
At Railtex 2011, Rittal will be exhibiting a range of Network Rail approved outdoor enclosure systems including Long Line PA variants.
Climate control products will also be ex- hibited from basic fans through to complex chilled water systems, offering improved sustainability.
Further product ranges include standard industrial and communications products and enclosures through to racks and card frames, providing signifi cant vibration and corrosion resistance and secure outdoor solutions, particularly for communications product and modular building/REB shel- ters. Specialist enclosures and systems de- signed specifi cally, for rail and road tunnel applications will also be exhibited.
To support these product ranges Rittal have a highly qualifi ed team of product managers, along with a geographically dedicated team of area sales managers who are all technically experienced to support clients at all stages of the project design through to installation and commissioning.
The Enclosure Systems have full compat- ibility and integration capability with Rit- tal’s Power Distribution components and Thermal Management Systems.
