Kell reveals new server cabinet


BladeVault C3000 Pax cuts noise, floor space and operating costs, vendor claims


KELL SYSTEMS has launched its latest server cabinet, the BladeVault C3000 Pax, which is designed to dramatically reduce the noise generated by the HP C3000 blade server. Like all the firm’s cabinets, the new


product removes the need for a dedicated server room, allowing companies to cut costs and electricity consumption. It houses the HP C3000 in a secure tower format for use in an open office. According to Kell, the HP C3000 typically generates noise of up to 85dB – equivalent to traffic noise on a busy road – but the BladeVault C3000 Pax reduces this to between 50dB and 65dB, a similar level to normal speech. This is achieved using ‘passive


acoustic treatment’, and the cabinet has no moving parts and requires no power.


It


includes a washable dust filter, which protects the server, boosting its reliability and operating lifetime.
