Young guns


The technology industry’s top brass frequently gain recognition when business is going well, but many of the younger executives are often overlooked. PCR is changing all that with our alphabetical list of 30 of the trade’s rising stars, working across retail, distribution and vendors...


1. Donna-Marie Adams, 29 Marketing Manager – PC Systems, Computer 2000 Adams is extremely passionate about the technology industry, having worked at firms including IBM and Konica Minolta before joining Computer 2000, where she is responsible for both consumer and channel marketing. Having become a marketing manager before the age of 30, Adams’ next goal is to be a marketing director by 40.


2. Sarah Amey, 22 Product Technical Specialist, Veho Amey joined Veho in 2009 and has quickly established herself as an integral part of the product development process. Her role includes contributing to design, testing prototypes, writing product specifications and proofreading manuals. As well as assisting with product launches, Amey is also Veho’s expert guest presenter on shopping channel QVC.


3. Rob Arundel, 29 IT Manager, CCI Distribution Now in his 11th year at CCI, Arundel has risen to become one of the firm’s key senior managers. He has brought innovation and stability to CCI’s IT services such as SAP, CRM and QlikView. He has worked extensively with key partners on IT trading services, and colleagues say his biggest strength is his strong commercial sense.


4. Phil Bell, 27 Marketing Manager, Westcoast


Bell took on his current role two years ago, and has led the team through some of its most innovative marketing yet, driving Westcoast’s significant

wholesale business growth last year. Colleagues complimented Bell for his “outstanding performance and enthusiastic demeanour”, adding that he gives Westcoast an advantage over the competition.

5. Ben Berraondo, 28 EMEA GeForce PR Manager, Nvidia Having started out as Asus’ UK marketing manager at the age of 24, Berraondo joined Nvidia as Northern Europe PR manager in 2008, before later moving into his current role. He is now in charge of PR for Nvidia’s GeForce consumer range across EMEA, frequently giving talks about the latest GPUs and their benefits to gaming.

6. Iain Bristow, 24 Technical PR and Component Marketing, Asus Bristow was solely responsible for coordinating the product marketing, channel marketing and PR for Asus’ component range for most of 2010. He has played a crucial role in building the brand, helping its motherboards achieve ‘highly commended’ status at the PC Pro Awards and winning two categories at the Custom PC & Bit- Tech Awards.

7. Jamie Brothwell, 28 Sales Manager, Midwich Brothwell was described in his nomination as “absolutely instrumental” to Midwich’s success over the past eight years. He was promoted to sales manager for the print and imaging division in 2008, increasing sales by £1 million the following year. This led to another promotion, when Brothwell assumed responsibility for distributor’s managed sales team.
