BRISEIDA HERNANDEZ Sharing the Spirit of Christmas

ANDRA AND I wish for you and your family a very merry, happy, and safe holiday season. As we all gather with our families, friends, and lodge brothers and sisters to celebrate and enjoy this joyous time of year, let each of us give thanks for the blessings we have enjoyed throughout the past year.

S

What a great time of year for us to Promote Elks Passion by sharing not only with our families, but with our veterans, active-duty military personnel and their families, as well as the families of our deployed military personnel. Please take the time to visit our shut-in veterans. Without Elks and their families, many of our shut-in veterans would have no one to share this joyous holiday with them. Please invite veterans, military personnel, and the families of deployed military personnel to be a part of your celebration both at home and at your lodges. Provide food, clothing, and encouragement to those in need in your communities. Let your light shine and show that Elks truly do care and share.

With the New Year comes a fine time to recommit yourself to Elks’ values and to Be Proud, Be Loud, and Be Visible. Participate in your Grand Lodge, state association, and lodge programs, and share your great works with your local media and community leaders. Invite the local media and local leaders to be a part of your community programs. Remember that we, the members of this great Order, came together to protect and to be kind to each other and to assist and serve those less fortunate than ourselves. Our Order teaches us to forget ourselves and help those in need. What better time to follow this principle than during this wonderful holiday season.

Again, from our family to yours, may you have a very happy, safe, and joyous holiday season, and may the New Year bring you even more opportunities to Be Proud, Be Loud, and Be Visible. May the New Year bring in each of us a renewed spirit to show all of America that Elks Care—Elks Share.

May God bless each of you, and may God continue to bless our troops and this great nation called America.

Fraternally and Sincerely,
