YOUR IDEAS ON THE FUTURE OF ELKDOM ARE URGENTLY NEEDED!

HAVE YOU THOUGHT about the future of the Benevolent and Pro- tective Order of Elks of the United States of America? Our Order has lost many mem- bers in recent years, which makes consider- ation of the survival of our 142-year-old Order an urgent matter of utmost importance.

The BPO Elks is an organization that relies totally on the strength, generosity, and creativity of its members. Every Elk’s ideas and sugges- tions are vital to the future of Elkdom. Please send your ideas and suggestions today.

NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL ELKS to review and reflect on the Order. Can the BPO Elks count on your assistance in finding ways to make the Order

succeed into the future and become a more effective organization? A committee was appointed at the recent Grand Lodge Convention in Orlando and charged with beginning the process of perpetuating our Order through the next 142 years. To accomplish this essential goal, it is absolutely imperative that all Elks contribute their ideas about how to restructure the Order and its operations so that our fraternal organization will remain vital and relevant in the future.

Your input is needed to look at the Order’s structure and operations, rather than its basic tenets. Some segments of our Order that could be reviewed, analyzed, and possibly restructured were put forward at the Orlando convention and include:

➤ Grand Lodge, State Association, and Local Lodge Structures and Committees ➤ Programs of the Grand Lodge ➤ Grand Lodge and Local Lodge Rituals ➤ Grand Lodge Annual Convention ➤ Method of Attaining Membership ➤ More Local Lodge Programs ➤ Fewer Grand Lodge Projects

EVERYTHING is on the table. Please be part of this most important process. The future of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America needs your ideas and suggestions to help reinvigorate our Order. Your handwritten (legible), typed, sent electronically, or faxed ideas and suggestions should be sent to Grand Secretary Bryan R. Klatt, Elks National Headquarters. The Grand Secretary will not accept any ideas or suggestions verbally; all must be submitted in written form. His contact information is as follows:

By US mail at: BPO Elks of the U.S.A. ATTN: Bryan R. Klatt, Grand Secretary 2750 N. Lakeview Ave. Chicago, IL 60614–1889

By fax to: 773-755-4709 By e-mail to: elksfuture@elks.org

The DEADLINE of December 15, 2010, has been set for receipt of your ideas and suggestions. Your information must be received by that date to allow for proper review, presentation, and action at the July 2011 National Convention in Phoenix, Arizona.
